Four Florida sprinters made the trip to the west coast for the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle with three athletes Jan'Taijah Ford, Brandon Cachon, and Chauncy Smart all finishing in the top three in their respective races, while Janaya Chambers was 7th in the girls 400m dash. The nation's top two ranked 800m runners race for the first time in Seattle: defending champion Christina Aragon and World Youth champion Sammy Watson. Aragon is already an Olympic Trials qualifier in the 1500m with her 4:09.27 best; Watson has run 2:03.06 for 800m -- so close to the 2:03.0 standard! Auburndale junior Chauncy Smart (pictured above with his mom) and Barron Collier senior Chauncy Smart will compete in the Brooks PR Invitational Saturday in Seattle, Washington. They will compete in the 100m dash and 400m dash respectively and be joined their female counterparts from the Sunshine State. Northeast freshman Jantaijah Ford and Stanton Prep and UGA signee Janaya Chambers will also make the trip to the west coast and compete in the quarter mile. Our national team caught up with Smart and Cachon before the meet!
