USATF is requiring all athletes on the IAAF World Championships team to wear official Team USA gear emblazoned with a Nike emblem. Symmonds is sponsored by Brooks and says the requirement breaks his contract. On Sunday night, he announced that USATF informed him he will be left off the team.

Former New Mexico Lobo Peter Callahan pulls off a huge upset and wins the men's mile at the 2015 FloTrack Throwdown in 3:58.43. Another unsponsored athlete, Colby Alexander took a surprising runner-up finish in 3:59.19. Pre-race favorite and 10,000m Olympic silver medalist Galen Rupp was 4th in 4:00.45.
Unsponsored Fiona Benson of Canada wins the 2015 FloThrowdown mile in a 4:25.79 World lead. Benson's PR entering tonight was 4:43. Brooks Gabe Grunewald was 2nd in 4:30.43.

At the first ever FloTrack Throwdown, Maggie Vessey was crowned the winner of the women's 800m, running 2:00.30 at Duniway Park in Portland, Oregon. The time was Vessey's sixth 2:00 of the season.
