It wasn't the record breaking weekend people hoped for, with the wet track and all. But some people faltered and some made the most of it; Ceolamar Ways kept his composure and rode into second place in the Dream 100.
Ben Saarel of Park City has a ferocious kick, and used it to destroy the field in a come from behind win Saturday at the Adidas Dream Mile. It truly was an all-star pack, with 9 athletes in the field breaking 4:10. Ben had to go toe to toe with the likes of Foot Locker Champ Edward Cheserek, Arizona’s Bernie Montoya, Henry Wynne and more. Saarel’s winning time of 4:02.72 is the fastest ever run by a Utah athlete in High School, beating out Brad Nye's 4:03.04 from last year. The win caps off a fantastic season for Ben, in which he set the all classification state record in the 800, 1600, and 3200m, as well as winning every race he entered except for his 3rd place finish at Mt. Sac. He will take his talents to University of Colorado this fall where he will be a contender for an NCAA title for years to come.
The future Texas A&M Aggie has had a wonderful season in which she helped her anchored her relay mates in all-time record form. The 4x100r cranked 46.10 to place fourth in the Penn Relays Championship of the America; the 4x200r rocked the IL state meet in 1:36.86.

With the nations' top sprinters in the field he believes it will take a lot of integrity as well as the perfect race to come out on top. He says defending his title would be very important. See how he prepares in the week leading up to the Dream 100 in this workout video.
The Adidas Grand Prix. The Dream 100. The Dream Mile. All three names are prestigious in themselves and will take place this Saturday in New York. It’s one of those meets that I wish I specialized in the 100 or mile, but you know, I wasn’t really meant for that. As for me, I’m not competing in either of the two well known events but rather the 4x4, which ought to be exciting as well.

Ceolamar Ways was used to running the 400. Until the 2013 season it was his marquee event. The Nease High School senior decided to work on his versatility and focus on the shorter sprints, the 100 and 200 meter dash. He hoped it would culminate in a state title and a ticket to the Dream 100 in New York City.
