Tomorrow brings the running world in Kentucky two huge races both being held miles away in North Carolina. Foot Locker South sees Kentucky potentially having its first back to back national qualifier with Jacob Thomson. Nike Cross Southeast has Assumption back in a spot to qualify again after becoming the first Kentucky girls team ever last year. St. Xavier is also the same potential spot looking at their second trip to Portland (made NXN in 2005, before Regional Qualifying.) Regardless of what actually happens this day just like the whole year, it will be one that shows Kentucky is on the move up .

NORTH CHARLESTON – Tami Dennis was packing her team’s equipment after a long day of USATF cross-country competition last Saturday at Wannamaker Park, only to be interrupted repeatedly by parents thanking her with a handshake, a hug or both.
Two of the greatest all time West Virginia cross country and track and field athletes have decided on their post season races. Maggie Drazba of St. Marys has chosen Foot Locker and Jacob Burcham of Cabell Midland has selected Nike.
CONGRATULATIONS Georgia on another outstanding year of Cross Country. For the 10th year in a row the Atlanta Track Club has continued its generosity with youth athletics and has agreed to sponsor TEAM GEORGIA by outfitting the top 15 boys and 15 girls who will run at the Footlocker South XC meet. The Footlocker South Regional will take place in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, 11/24 and is the precursor to the National XC Championships.

The state championships have come and gone and now Florida's top runners will see how they fare against runners from across the southern United States. The Sunshine State has been well represented the past few years sending multiple runners to Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego, California. This year looks to be no different with the strongest hopefuls coming in 4A state champions Andres Arroyo and Bridget Blake.

125 runners from Kentucky are registered to run at Foot Locker South on Saturday.
Sophie Chase of Lake Braddock has the opportunity on Saturday to become a three-time Foot Locker Nationals qualifier and potentially win the Foot Locker South Regional title (only two Virginia girls have won since 1999). Can any other girls from Virginia join her to be San Diego bound for the first time?
Skyline's Thomas Madden along with Chantilly's Sean McGorty will attempt to successfully qualify for a second straight Foot Locker Nationals on Saturday at the South Regional in Charlotte. Madden is especially eager to race again to make up for a disappointing 7th place finish in the Group AA state race and get back to his sub 15 minute 5K form from earlier in the season at Great American.
The south's top runners will head to McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Foot Locker South Cross Country Championships. The top ten boys and top ten girls in the seeded race will advance to Foot Locker Nationals December 8th in San Diego, California.

Florida 4A Champion Bridget Blake will be making a return trip to San Diego this year! The Dr. Phillips senior will be the lone representative from the Sunshine State. Blake improved upon her seventh place finish last year with a sixth place personal best of 17:12 on the lightning fast McAlpine Park course.
CHARLOTTE -- Porter-Gaud's Brent Demarest qualified for Foot Locker Nationals with 10th place time of 15:06 at Foot Locker South today in McAlpine Park.

What an outstanding day for Georgia Harriers as Josh Brickell roared around McAlpine Park in 14:49 placing 2nd in the Boys Seeded race and Brad Hort earned his first trip to San Diego placing 6th cracking sub 15: as 2 of the best pure athletes in all of Georgia will make the trip to Foot Locker Nationals. It was a Great day for TEAM GEORGIA as the boys "team" won, scoring 67 points defeating mighty Virginia and the girls were 2nd scoring 78 points, Georgia's best showing in years...This TEAM GEORGIA thing has really improved our post season results in that when it started we had few kids run and now we are WINNING the meet! .Also of note is a strong showing from the up and coming 13/14 year olds. The ATC and Team Georgia committee are to be comended for their choices and need to take a bow as well! Pictured are the 5 Top Boys Medalists from Georgia.
Amazing 9 year old and double indoor AAU National Champion Noah Castro of Hurricane, West Virginia easily won the Foot Locker South Region 3000m boys 10 and under race with a blazing fast time of 10:59 for a 5:54 mile pace. The future of West Virginia and U.S. distance running is looking very good. Watch out world, here comes Noah! No ark needed this time.
