AMES, Iowa � The future of Iowa State thrower Christina Hillman looks bright. No one knows that more than her coach, Iowa State throws mentor Grant Wall. He knew Hillman was special. By resume alone, Hillman was a great catch for the Cyclone track and field program. Vaughan, Kirillov rewrite records on Day 1 USA Junior Championships 6/15/2012 BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Shelbi Vaughan set an American Junior record in the women’s discus and Nikita Kirillov broke a 19-year-old meet record in the men’s pole vault to highlight competition on day one of USA Junior Track & Field Championships. The competition kicked off this afternoon in Bloomington, IN at Indiana University.
