LONGWOOD, FL – MileSplit, the leading website for high school cross country and track & field, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of RunningCamps.org and its assets.
Over the past three years, RunningCamps.org has become the leading independent resource for parents and coaches to find the right camp for their athletes. Its comprehensive directory of camp offerings provides a consolidated way to quickly find information and honest reviews from campers.
For founder Joe Mizereck the venture has always been labor of love, but he looks to step back and start enjoying retirement a bit more. He smiles while calling the outcome “perfect” and adding “I know my baby is in good hands.”
MileSplit will utilize the property to strengthen its offering to camp directors and extend the site to serve clinics as well. The synergies are apparent and MileSplit will leverage its audience of over 1.5 million people to help promote RunningCamps.org and improve the value delivered to camp organizers. It will also strengthen the offerings of RunningCamps.org by integrating its technology to enhance the feature set of the site.
“Joe has done such a great job already,” said MileSplit CEO Jason Byrne, “and we don’t look to fundamentally change its mission. Look for us to add a fresh coat of paint, richer features, social elements, and overall just doing more of the great work that Joe has already done.”
RunningCamps.org will continue to exist as its own site. MileSplit will merge the sister site TrackCamps.com under the RunningCamps.org brand and change the tag line to “America’s Guide for Running Camps and Clinics” to better reflect its purpose. Mizereck will step down from the company but remain a friend and advisor to the site.
