Brown Invitational, RI

Highlights

  • US#1 Edward Cheserek (St. Benedict's, NJ) won the boys race by a huge margin with a course record time of 14:34.6!  He bettered the old course record by 25 seconds!  Kelsey Margey won the girls Championship race with a quick 17:28 clocking.

 

Brebeuf Jesuit Regional, IN

Highlights

  • In boys action US#2 Futsum Zeinasellassie (North Central) won his 3rd straight title with a dominating time of 15:04.60.  Troy Reeder (Hamilton Southeastern) was 2nd in 15:29.  Hamilton Southeastern took down Carmel in the team race 63 to 81.
  • In the girls race US#2 Carmel (IN) won with just 26 points and an 18:33.18 course average.  Renee Wellman won individually for Carmel with a time of 17:57.80.

Highlights

  • Boys Championship: US#16 Josh Brickell (Peachtree Ridge) won by 10 seconds to continue his stellar season with a time of 15:57.5.  Morgan Malanoski (Brookwood) was runner-up in 16:08.7.  Brookwood (GA) won by nearly 100 points with a score of 42 and a 1-5 spread of just 26.7 seconds.  Impressively, the 1-9 spread was just 48.4 seconds!
  • Girls Championship: Chloe Whitworth (Collins Hill) won with a time of 19:11.1 while Creekside (GA) took the team title with 92 points.  

 

Puma/College Park Invitational, TX

Highlights

  • College Park (TX) girls won the Varsity D1 race with 27 points over Willis (TX) with 43.  Cali Roper (Willis) won individually over the 2 mile layout with a time of 10:50.31.  
  • In the boys Varsity D1 race College Park also won with 28 points over The Woodlands (TX) who had 45 points.  Zach Goodlander (Willis) won individually with a time of 16:12.81.

 

Klein Oak Meet, TX

Highlights

  • US#14 Kingwood (TX) girls flexed some muscle as they won over Klein (TX) with just 29 points, putting 5 in the top-9 overall.  Catie Daigre won individually for Kingwood with a 2 mile time of 11:29.  
  • Klein Oak (TX) boys outpaced Kingwood 33 to 44 in boys varsity action as Klein Oak took the top-3 places.  Nate Jones won the race with a time of 15:33 and Bradley Dohner was 2nd, credited with the same time.  

 

Joe O'Neill Invitational, DE

Coverage

Highlights

  • On a muddy course, Julie Macedo, Charter School of Wilmington, breaks Haley Pierce's (Tatnall) 5K course record by nine seconds with a time of 16:55.26 in a head-to-head at Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware.  Pierce ran 17:37.55 for 2nd place as Tatnall (DE) took the next 4 spots and 5 of the top-7 in the race to score just 21 points for the win.  Tatnall also put together an 18:19.09 team average, over a minute faster than Charter's (DE) team average. 
  • In the boys varsity race Sam Parsons (Tatnall) won by 10 seconds over John Mascioli (Archmere) in 15:43.03 to 15:53.86.  Tatnall took team honors with 45 points.

Highlights

  • Sara Tsai and Erin Clark, both of South Eugene (OR), went under the old course record in the girls varsity race.  Sara won in 17:41 while Erin ran 17:43.  Summit (OR) completely dominated South Eugene to win the girls team battle.   Travis Neuman won the boys varsity race in 15:16.

Saturday Highlights

  • Boys Elite: Andres Arroyo (Colonial) blasted a 14:59.18 to win over rival Elliot Clemente (Belen Jesuit), who was 2nd in 15:02.73.  Belen Jesuit had the edge in the team race as they won with just 50 points, 125 over the rest of the field.
  • Girls Elite: Olivia Ortiz (Lakewood Ranch) defeated US#25 Lily Williams (Chiles) with a quick 17:41.94 as Williams was 2nd in 17:46.87.  Kacy Smith (Estero) was 3rd in 17:47.21.  Estero dominated in the team competition with 95 points for the win.
  • Boys Invitational: Travis Nichols (Land O Lakes) won the individual race with a time of 16:04.21.  Flagler Palm Coast won the team race with 146 points.
  • Girls Invitational: Hannah Loder (Matanzas) won with a time of 18:51.64.  Freedom won the team title with 150 points.

Friday Highlights

  • Ryan Gousse (Trinity Prep) won the boys Varsity race with a time of 16:07.83 over teammate Daniel Salas, who clocked in at 16:12.77.  Trinity Prep dominated the team race, winning with 41 points as the only team with a score under 100.  
  • Vanessa Valentine (Melbourne) won the girls Varsity race by 1:15 with a quick 18:00.56 clocking.  Sarasota Riverview won the team title with 88 points.  

 

Chili Pepper Festival, AR

Highlights

  • US#4 Southlake Carroll (TX) boys absolutely destroyed the competition with 22 points in the 59 team field!  Southlake Carroll put 4 in the top-5 and 8 runners in the top-14 and boasted a 5 man average of 15:14.68 for #3 all-time, according to XCNation.  #1 belongs to Bloomington North's (IN) 1980 squad at 15:12 and #2 is the 2010 Arcadia (CA) mark of 15:14.  Cale Wallace (Cypress Ranch (TX) won the individual race with a time of 15:00.5.  Joe Sansone led Southlake with a 2nd place 15:04 effort.  
  • US#11 Southlake Carroll (TX) girls impressed as well with just 28 points scored against 49 teams.  Southlake Carroll put together a 1-5 spread of 20 seconds and place 5 runners in the top-10 and 6 the top-11.  Maggie Montoya (Rogers) defended her title from 2010 with a stellar 17:34 clocking.

 

Greensburg Regional Champs, IN

Highlights

  • US#13 Columbus North (IN) boys flat-out dominated this one, scoring 16 points and running a 1-5 average of 15:46.86, over a minute faster than any other team in the race.  They also had a 25 second 1-5 spread.  Andrew Diehn won over teammate Michael Sublette, 15:32.37 to 15:34.77.
  • Columbs North girls also won with 26 points and an 18:59 average.  Rachael Sollman won the race individually with a time of 18:30.85.

 

Ben Davis Regional Champs, IN

Highlights

  • Luke Brahm (Ben Davis) won the boys title with a time of 15:44 while Brownsburg got by them in the team race 54 to 62.  

 

Classic 8 Conference, WI

Highlights

  • US#19 Arrowhead (WI) won their conference meet with 23 points, the 3rd lowest winning score in the meets history.  Russ Sandvold won the individual title with a time of 15:52.25, going just shy of the conference record.

 

DuPage Valley Conference Meet, IL

Highlights

  • Amanda Fox (Naperville Central) won the girls 3 mile race by 30 seconds with a quick clocking of 16:35.8.

 

12th Annual Holy Trinity Fall Classic, FL

Highlights

  • US#13 Daniel Moore (Holy Trinity) kept his win streak alive with a 15:49.63 clocking to win his home invitational.  Holy Trinity also ran away with the team title, scoring just 24 points. 
  • Bridget Blake (Dr. Phillips) won with a quick time of 17:27.61, and bested some impressive runners in the process.  Julie Wollrath (Holy Trinity) was 2nd in 17:31.79 and Shelby Davidson (Cocoa Beach) was 3rd in 17:36.02.  Dr. Phillips (FL) won the team title over Cocoa Beach (FL) 72 to 82.

 

Jefferson County League Meet, CO

Highlights

  • US#21 Danny Carney (Sr., Dakota Ridge)  won the league meet in 15:35, 45 seconds faster than 2nd place.

 

Region 1 Championships, UT

Highlights

  • US#5 Davis (UT) rolled on to the state championship with a 15 point scoring.  Brad Nye broke Steve Shepards course record with a time of 15:18.  Brayden Cromar ran 2nd in 15:30, Preston Johnson was 3rd in 15:34, Logan Wood was 4th in 15:47 and Alex Hedquist was 5th in 15:47 for the 3-mile course.

 

Mandan Fall Classic, ND

Highlights

  • Thursday - 20 mph winds and 63 degree temps did not hamper the Bismarck team and US#5 Jake Leingang as he ran a 9:19.8 time on a somewhat hilly 2 mile course.  Scoring a perfect 15 points for Bismarck the 2nd place finisher was  Lane Kashur with a 9:44.9 followed by Preston Lerew in 9:45.6,  Austin Todd in 9:48.3 and Brandon Berg in 9:52.8.

 

Doug Conley Invitational, AZ

Highlights

  • Rolonda Jumbo (Chinle AZ) won the girls varsity invitational in a big way with an 18:26.26 clocking.  Xavier Prep (AZ) won the team title with 49 points while holding out their top-7!

 

27th Annual Santa Clarita Valley CC Invitational, CA  

Highlights

  • US#24 Nick Hartle (Centennial NV) won the boys Div 1/2 race with a quick time of 15:00.9 over Cameron Miller (Stockdale CA) who was 2nd in 15:06.5.  Stockdale (CA) took down Centennial (NV) with a score of 76 to 92.  

  • In the girls DIV 1/2 race Ali Teliha (Bullard CA) won with a time of 17:47.7.  Serrano (CA) won the team title with 50 points scored.

 

Lexington Catholic Invitational, KY

Coverage

Highlights

  • Boys Large School: Jacob Thomson (Holy Cross) won the individual title with a time of 16:09.03.  St. Xavier (KY) won the team title with 40 points.
  • Girls Large School: Cassidy Hale (DuPont Manual) won by close to a minute with a clocking of 19:10.44.  Sacred Heart (KY) won over DuPont Manual (KY) 40 to 50.  
  • Boys Small School: Nicholas Waltman (Sayre) won the boys race with a 16:31.86 clocking.  North Oldham (KY) won the team title with a scoring of 57 points.  
  • Girls Small School: Maddox Patterson (Sayre) won with a time of 19:28.12.  North Oldham completed the sweep, winning with 96 points.  

 

Foothill League Meet, CA

Highlights

  • US#17 Saugus (CA) girls dominated with just 19 points as they took 6 of the top- places.  Karis Frankian won the race individually for Saugus with a time of 17:13, winning by 36 seconds.

 

CIML Central Conference Champs, IA

Highlights

  • Dowling Catholic (IA) girls took the top-7 places in the race to win with 15 points.  Soph Karissa Schweizer won the race individually with a time of 15:06 for 4k as the teams spread spanned just 33 seconds from 1-7!
