Highlight of the first two days of the AAU Junior Olympics in steamy New Orleans was Georgia's Kendell Williams (photo right), who broke the five year old Intermediate Girls Heptathlon Record of this year's USATF Hep champ Ryann Krais (Methacton HS PA/Kansas State) with 5170 points. The record from 2006 had been 5142. Williams is a rising junior at Kell HS in Marietta, GA.

Highlights: Day 3
Johnny Carter, CA, won the triple jump in the young men's division with a jump of 50-01.50. John Horton, TX, finished 2nd in 49-07.50.
James Liburd, TX, jumped 22-03.50 in the youth long jump with a slight wind aid of 2.1. The national record is 22-02.25 unaided.
Kendell Williams, GA, jumped 5-10 in the intermediate high jump for the win.
Chinne Okoronkwo, WA, won the girls youth triple jump with a leap of 38-00.25.
Jada Sleet, KY, jumped 16-02.50 in the midget long jump for 1st place.
Sara Firestone, PA, threw the javelin in the intermediate division 131-09 for the win.
Kyla Walker, TN, jumped 19-10.25 in the young women's long jump to finish 1st.
Mystasia Alexander, CA, set a new AAU JO National Record in the youth division in the Javelin with a toss of 129.04.

Kendell Williams, GA, advances from the 100 Intermediate hurdle prelims with the fastest time of the day in 13.82.
Morgan Snow, GA, finished the 100 (Young) hurlde prelims in 13.90 for the fastest time of the day followed by Chalese Davis, CA, in 13.94.
In the youth 200 meter dash prelims, Brittny Ellis finished with the fastest time of 24.94. Joshua Poole leads the boys with 22.90
Marcquita Stalbert, LA, leads the boys in the 200 meter dash intermediate prelims with a 24.28.
Morolake Akinosun, IL, ran a 23.77 in the young women's 200 meter dash for the fastest time in the prelims. Aaron Ernest, AL, finished with the fastest time of 21.38 in the 200 prelims for young men.
Ernest also won the long jump with a leap of 24-6.75.
Floriane Kameni, WA, won the girls long jump with an 18-11.25 in the youth division.
Ashley Gaston, IL, threw the discus 149-03 for first place in the young women's division. Lauren Daniel, TX, finished 2nd with a 148-11.
Steven Deshazer, MO, won the discus in the Young Men's division with a throw of 172-02.
In the intermediate triple jump Dominique Drayden, TX, took home the win with a 47-9.75. Mylana Hearn, TX, won the girls triple jump with a 39-10.50.
Erica Sergeant, FL, won the girls intermediate pole vault with a jump of 12-00.

Sahara Fletcher, GA, won the girls intermediate 2000 meter steeplechase in 7:32.07. Kaley Hook, CA, won the Young Women's division in 7:29.61. Nathan Jones, TN, won the boys intermediate division in 6:31.64 and Andrew Harris, AL, ran a 6:23.02 for the win in the Young Men's division.
In the 800 meter run, Tatiyana Caffey, GA, won the girls Intermediate division with a 2:13.80 while Lauren Jackson, GA, ran a 2:15.54 in the girls youth division. Charles Jones, MO, ran a fast 1:52.75 in the boys intermidate division. Juan Green, FL, won the Young Men's division with a 1:52.84.
Samantha Levin, MO, ran a 2:07.06 in the Young Women's 800 run for a new AAU JO National Record.
Eric Futch, PA, took 1st in the Young Men's 400 hurdles with a 51.67.
Shamier Little, IL (photo right), ran a blistering 57.83 in the girls intermediate 400 hurdles for a new AAU JO National Record. Melissa Gonzalez, TX, also had a great run in the 400 hurdles with a 58.65.
Teiara Denmark, VA, jumped 39-09.75 for the win in the triple jump.
Grant Hill, AL, tossed the discus 173-02 for the win. Hill threw 14 feet longer than 2nd place thrower.
Over at the high jump, William Leblanc, LA, jumped 6-10 for the win.
Kenneth Nassar, MS, won the shot put with a put of 56-02.50.
Kendell Williams, GA, jumped 19-07.50 in the long jump to win by a foot over 2nd place.
Alexandria Florent, CA, jumped 5-8 to win the high jump.
In the Women's shot put, Lauren Daniel, TX, took the win with a 46-6.00.
Dylan Duvio, LA, won the boys pole vault with a jump of 15-00.00
Willie Teo-Clifton, CA, threw the javelin 161-02 for the win.

Moralake Akinosun, IL, had the fastest time and a AAU JO National Record coming out of the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.49.

Ashlie Blake, NV, set a new AAU JO National Record in the Intermediate shot put with a 49-00.00.
Pole Vaulter Morgan Leleux, LA, set a new AAU JO National Record in the pole vault with a jump of 13-07.00.
Austin Droogsma, FL, won the shot put with a put of 52-07.75.
Avione Allgood, NV, won the young women's javelin throw in 158-04 setting a new AAU JO National Record.
Meagan Gray, (TX) and Zoe Mckinley (TX) both jumped 11-06 in the girls youth pole vault setting a new youth AAU JO National Record.

Chelsea Utley (photo right), VA, won the young women's high jump, clearing 5-8. PA's Morgan Taylor was 2nd with a clearance of 5-6.
In the trials for the 400 meter dash, three guys broke 48 with Dakarie Mckinnie (MI) posting the fastest of the day in 47.79 in young men. Intermediate boys Talvon Jacobs (MD) went 47.87, while Juan Green of FL ran 47.98 in young men. In the girls' trial, Felicia Brown (GA) ran a fast qualifier of 54.45 in the young women's race.
In field finals:
Nia Britt (CA) set a AAU JO Youth National Record in the 6 lb shot put with a throw of 51-06.25.
In the boys youth pole vault, Adam Coulon (IN) cleared 14-02 to set a AAU JO National Record.
Two Texans cleared 16 in the young men's pole vault.Shawnacy Barber won with a 16-6 effort, while fellow Lone-Stater Dylan Bell was over at 16-0 even.
In young men's javelin, it was a Louisiana sweep of the top two spots behind a 177-05 toss by Noah Riche. Tyler Doiron threw 172-4 for 2nd.

Katie Lembo of New York won the girls 3000 intermediate race in 10:21.49 while Leila Mantilla, also from New York, ran a 10:15.11 in the young women's race for the win.
Elliott Farris of Texas won the young men's 3000 meter run with a 9:00.93 clocking while Nicholas Stewart of Missouri was 2nd in 9:02.26.
Morolake Akinosun of Illinois won the young women's 100 meter dash with an impressive 11.62 clocking. Jada Martin of Georgia blasted the girls intermediate 100 meter dash with a time of 11.85.
Kailo Moore of Mississippi won impressively in the young men's 100 meter dash with a 10.77 clocking. Xavier Atkins of Florida won the boys intermediate 100 meter dash with a time of 10.80.
Felicia Brown of Georgia blasted a 53.67 to win the young women's 400 meter dash. Shamier Little of Illinois won the girls intermediate 400 meter dash with a clocking of 53.83.
Kavahra Holmes of Louisiana won the young men's 400 meter dash in impressive style with a time of 46.07. Taivon Jacobs of Maryland won the boys intermediate 400 meter dash with a time of 47.52 over Eric Nathaniel of Arkansas, who finished in 47.69 for second place.
The Florida Elite Track Club smoked the competition in the young women's 4x100 relay with a time of 45.56. The Houston Youth Track Club (TX) won the intermediate girls 4x100 relays with a time of 46.72.
The Houston Youth Track Club also won the young men's 4x100 relay in a tight battle with a time of 40.97. Team Elite was 2nd in 41.01. The Titans Track Club won the intermediate boys 4x100 with a convincing win in 41.68.
Amir Rasul of Florida set an AAU JO National Record in the boys sub-youth 200 meter dash with a clocking of 22.39, well under the old record of 22.54. Danyel White of Texas won the girls sub-youth 200 meter dash with a clocking of 25.02.
Brittny Ellis of Illinois won the girls youth 200 dash with a time of 24.49 while Taj Griffin won the boys race in 22.54.
Jada Martin won the girls intermediate 200 dash with a time of 24.01 and Sharkeith Beverly of Louisiana won the boys race in 21.61.
Morolake Akinosun of Illinois added to her 100 win by taking the young women's 200 title as well with a time of 23.73.
Kailo Moore of Mississippi did the same in the boys race, winning big with a time of 21.27.
Chase Drewery of Maryland set the AAU JO National Record in the boys sub-bantam high jump competition with a leap of 4-5.75 to eclipse the 12 year-old mark by a quarter-inch.
Metro-Dade (FL) broke a 4-year old mark to set the AAU JO National Record in the girls midget 4x400 relay with a time of 3:57.20.
Rate of Motion Elite Track Club just missed bettering their own NR in the girls youth 4x400 relay, clocking a winning time of 3:47.96.
Miami Gardens Express Track Club broke an 18 year-old record in the boys youth 4x400 relay with a new AAU JO National Record time of 3:28.35.
In a close battle The Track Houston Youth TC won the the girls Intermediate 4x400 meter relay in 3:45.05 with the Titans TC finishing a very close 2nd in 3:45.11.
The Titans TC boys also won the 4x400 intermediate relay team in 3:17.20.
A new AAU JO National Record was set in the young women's 4x400 meter relay by the Star Track Program who broke a 21 year record with a time of 3:40.43.
Track Phi Track Elite Inc ran a 3:12.07 in the young men's 4x400 meter relay for the win.
9 year old Chase Drewery, MD, set a new AAU JO National Record in the boys high jump by jumping 4-05.75.
Eddiyah Frye, FL, and Inara Shell, PA both set new AAU JO National Records in the long jump in the primary division. Frye jumped 13-01.00 for 1st place followed by Shell who jumped 13-00.25. The previous record was 12-10.
Jimmy Beaird, MO, won the intermediate Javelin with a throw of 169-7.
