NJCTC Championships, NJ - US#7 Edward Cheserek, St. Benedict's, won again this week in a big way with a 15:18.45 for 5250 meters by a gap of 32 seconds over 9:06 3200 meter runner Morgan Pearson, Delbarton.

 

 

Iowa All-Star Senior Champs, IA - Shelby Houlihan, Sioux City East, won the girls race by a huge margin with a time of 17:37.  Eli Horton, Southeast Polk, won the boys race with a time of 15:50.

 

 

FHSAA 1A District 6, FL - US#5 Kathryn Fluehr, Community School of Naples, won her district meet in a time of 16:54.14 with sister Erika 2nd in 17:13.91. 

 

 

FHSAA 3A District 2, FL - Photos | US#22 Jimmy Clark, Creekside, won the boys race with ease in 16:02.59.  Bartram Trail won the boys team title with 46 points.

 

 

FHSAA 4A District 8, FL - US#21 Armando Del Valle, Miami Columbus, led his team in a dominating victory with a time of 15:49.42.  Miami Columbus took the top-3 places and put all 7 runners inside the top-11 to score just 22 points.  In the girls race Lourdes also dominated, scoring 19 points for the win behind Alessandra Valdes winning time of 19:06.90, with 6 of the top-8 overall. 

 

 

FHSAA 4A District 5, FL - US#23 Ryan Pickering, John I. Leonard, won his district meet with a time of 16:36.30.  John I. Leonard won the team title with 35 points. 

 

 

NJISAA Championships, NJ - US#7 Edward Cheserek, St. Benedict's, won handedly with a time of 15:22.05, by a gap of nearly 53 seconds.

 

 

Section II Championships, NY - Saratoga Springs took places 2-7 in the Class AA race on the way to an impressive victory, led by Keelin Hollowood's 2nd place 17:28.  They scored 20 points to Shenendehowa's 49 points.  Lizzie Predmore led Shen with the win in 17:07.  Brittany Winslow, Queensbury, won the Class AA race with a swift 16:51.  Christian Delago, Shaker, won the boys AA race with a time of 15:08 while Otis Ubriaco, Burnt Hills, won Class A with a time of 15:27.   

 

 

Section 9 Championships, NY - US#9 Aisling Cuffe, Cornwall, cruised to the win with a time of 17:39.25 in Class A while her team won with 16 points.  In Class AA Holly Cavalluzzo, Valley Central, won with a 17:52.02.  In the boy Class AA race US#12 Martin Hehir, Washingtonville, won with a quick 15:08.03.

 

 

Northwest Region Championships, VA - PhotosComplete Coverage Article | Hannah Lowery, Stafford, blasted to victory by over a minute with a time of 18:05.60.  The Colonial Forge girls won with 46 points.    

 

 

Northern Region Championships, VA - Photos: 1 | 2 | Complete Coverage Article | Sophie Chase, Lake Braddock, won impressively with a time of 17:38.90 while Ahmed Bile, Annandale, won the boys race in 15:22.30.  

 

 

Eastern Region Championships, VAPhotos | Complete Coverage Article | Ocean Lakes swept both the boys and girls team titles with 71 and 52 points respectively.  

 

 

NJSIAA Sectional Championships, NJ - Sections: North I | North II | Central | SouthIn the Southern section US#2 Megan Venables smoked the Group 3 race, winning in 17:23 by a gap of 1:40!  US#12 Megan Lacy rolled in the Group 4 girls race, winning with a time of 17:36.  Miles Schoedler ran the fastest boys time of the day out of the Group 3 race with a time of 15:34.  In the North I section US#15 Jeramy Elkhaim won the Group 4 race with the fastest time, a 15:44.  Samantha Jones won the girls Group 4 race with a 18:18, also fastest on the day.  

 

 

Texas Regional Championships, TX - Region 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | Region 1: US#5 Craig Lutz, Marcus, blasted a 14:02 3 mile to win the boys race by 55 seconds, and looks like he will be unstoppable this fall!  US#9 Rachel Johnson, Plano, rolled to victory in the girls 2 mile race with a time of 10:53.10. State Championships

 

 

Arizona State Championships, AZ -  Billy Orman, Tuba City (photo below left), smashed the State Course record running a swift 15:03.  The previous record over the hilly course was 15:15 set by Brian Shrader (Foot Locker West regional Champ, 5th place National finisher now running at Oregon).  Sarah Fakler, Xavier College Prep, (photo below: second from left) won the Division 1 race with the fastest time of the day in 18:26, leading the Xavier team to a huge victory.  Xavier placed all 7 of their runners in the top 15 with 4 runners in the top 10.  The team scored 37 points to Desert Vista's second place finish with 94 points.  Alhambra won the team title for the boys in division 1 led by 3rd place finisher Jorge Martinez.  The team scored 102 points over 2nd place Mesa Mountain View (112) and 3rd place Desert Vista (117).   AZtrackXC.com ONSITE

State Meet Recap

 

 

 

Arkansas State Championships, AR -   Junior Valerie Reina, Har-Ber, won the 7A division with the fastest time of the day in 18:30.8 followed by sophomore Maggie Montoya, Rogers, in 18:38.1 and junior Emily Meyers, Cabot, in 18:40.4.  Montoya led the Rogers team to victory earning 42 points and an average time of 19:26.4 over Bentonville's 60 pts and average time of 19:48.

The fastest time of the day for the boys went to Gabriel Gonzalez, Springdale, who finished the 7A division race in 16:00.2 followed closely by junior Aidan Swain, Fayetteville, who was running alongside Gonzalez at the mile and 2 mile splits.  Swain finished in 16:02.4.

Bentonville won the team title led by 3rd place finisher junior Will Aenchbacher who finished with a time of 16:14.7.  Bentonville scored 45 points over 2nd place Cabot (77) and had an average time of 16:39.

 

 

Connecticut State Open Championships, CT - US#25 Lindsay Crevoiserat, Glastonsbury, was upset individually as Jackie Nicholas, Nonnewaug, won 18:12 to 18:18.  Glastonbury won the team title with 77 points.  Bryan Fowler, Tolland, won the boys title in a nail-biter over Connor Rog, Fairfield Prep, 15:50 to 15:51.  Tolland won with a score of 111 points.  

 

 

Georgia State Championships, GA - Previews: A | AA | AAA | AAAA | AAAAA | 2009 Foot Locker finalist in Grace Tinkey, blasted the course for the fastest time, from the A girls race, with a time of 18:04.74. Illinois State Championships, IL - US#4 Lukas Verzbicas blasted a 13:54 to win the Class 3A title, falling 4 seconds short of Craig Virgin's record.  US#24 Jack Driggs was 2nd in 14:16 to lead York to the team title with 162 points to slip by Lake Zurich, who scored 164.

 

 

Michigan State Championships LP, MI - In the Division 1 girls race Brook Handler, Rochester, blasted a 17:00.2 to edge out US#15 Gabrielle Anzalone, Grand Blanc, who finished 2nd in 17:01.7.  Hannah Meier, Grosse Pointe South, was 3rd in 17:21.2, Erin Finn, West Bloomfield, was 4th in 17:31, and 2009 FL finalist Shannon Osika, Waterford Mott, was 5th in 17:38.  In the Division 1 boys race Scott Albaugh, Waterford Mott, won in 15:13.9 while Austin Whitelaw, Monroe, was 2nd in 15:15.5.  Omar Kaddurah, Grand Blanc, rounded out the top-3 with a time of 15:30.9.  

 

 

Minnesota State Championships, MN - Full meet recap | In the boys AA race Adam Zutz, Saint Francis, took the win in 15:33.4 while Cole O'Brien, Burnsville, was 2nd in 15:35.1.  Wayzata took the team title with just 61 points off of a 42 second spread.  In the girls AA 4k race Maria Hauger, Shakopee, rolled to a 14:18.9 for the win.  Eden Prairie hung tough to defeat Monticello in the team race 69 to 79. 

 

 

Mississippi State Championships, MS - Classes: 1A | 2A | 3A | 4A | 5A | 6A | Chad Moore won the 6A boys race in 16:00.5, the fastest time of the day.  Clinton High won the team title with 54 points.  In the girls 6A race Tupelo took the top two places, led by Katherine Steinman, to win with 36 points. 

 

 

Missouri State Championships, MO - Photos: 1 | 2 | Samantha Nightingale Interview | Zach Herriott Interview | Daniel Everett Interview | Emma Burditt Interview | More video coverage | Class 4: Samantha Nightingale, Blue Springs South, won the girls title in 17:59.64 over Jessica Jackson, 18:09.49, and US#21 Colleen Quigley, 18:25.14.  Zach Herriott, Rockhurst, won the boys race with a time of 15:30.55, the fastest on the day. New Hampshire State Championships, NH - Jeff LaCoste, Bishop Guertin, continues to dominate the state, winning with a time of 15:07.8.  Manchester Central won the team title with 71 points over Bishop Guertin.  In the girls race Chloe Maleski, Keene, was the only girl under 18, winning with a time of 17:48.9!  The girls team race was a mirror image of the boys with Manchester Central winning with 98 points over Bishop Guertin.  

 

 

New Mexico State Championships, NM - 5A: Luis Martinez, Cleveland, won the boys title with a 16:08 clocking and La Cueva won the team title with 53 points.  Caroline Lewiecki, Manzano, won the girls crown with a time of 18:56.50.  Eldorado won the girls team title with 47 points.  4A: Neil Longenbaugh, Albuquerque Academy, won the boys crown with a time of 16:10.05 while Albuquerque Academy won the team title with just 37 points.  In the girls race Julia Foster, Albuquerque Academy, won big with a time of 18:35.80.  3A: Santiago Pasquale, Santa Fe Indian School, won the boys title with a time of 16:17.25 while the Santa Fe Indian School won the team title with 30 points.  Kate Norskog, St. Michael's High, won the girls race with a time of 19:21.55 and Wingate won the team title with 52 points.  1A-2A: Antonio Varela, Pecos, won the boys title with a 16:05.25 and Laguna Acoma won the boys team crown with 79 points.  Caroline Kaufman, East Mountain, won the girls individual title with a 19:39.85 while the Bosque School won the team crown with 59 points. 

 

 

Nevada State Championships, NV - Nick Hartle (Jr., Centennial) and Bryan Jordan (Sr., Galena) finished in a virtual tie in the division 4A race at the Nevada State Meet with both running 16:28 for the fastest time of the day.  According to the Nevada State Meet results, Hartle was awarded first place over Jordan.  Centennial won the boys State Title with 5 runners finishing in the top 13 for 43 points and an average time of 17:17.80.  On the girls side freshman Katie Gorczyca (Palo Verde) had the fastest time of the day winning the division 4A race in 19:49 with a 28 second lead over 2nd place.  Palo Verde won the girls team title earning 58 points and an average time of 21:01 over Damonte Ranch's 68 points.    

 

 

North Carolina State Championships, NC - Starting boxes | Classes: 1A | 2A | 3A | 4A | Boys 4A race | Girls 4A race | 4A: Blake Williams, Northern Durham, won the boys title in 15:29.38 while Darby Middlebrook, Watauga, won the girls race in 17:52.16.  Green Hope swept both team titles with 80 points for the boys and a low 34 points for the girls.  3A: Graham Crawford, Williams, took the boys race while Sarah Rapp, Cardinal Gibbons, won the girls race.  Cardinal Gibbons won the girls team title and Chapel Hill won the boys team title.  2A: Eric Williams, Northwood, won for the boys and Grace Morken, Carrboro, won the girls race.  Carrboro boys and girls swept the team crowns.  1A: Matus Kriska, Mt. Airy, won the boys title and Carol Blankenship, East Wilkes, won the girls title.  Hendersonville won the girls team title while Robbinsville won the boys crown. 

 

 

Ohio State Championships, OH - In-Depth Preview | US#17 Zach Wills, Mason, won the Division 1 title with a time of 15:19.8, but the time battle was won by US#9 Michael Brajdic, Bay, who ran 15:01.9 to win in Division 2 and break Olympian Bob Kennedy's 1987 course record of 15:03.2. Oregon State Championships, OR - 6A: Jesuit girls won the girls race with just 48 points behind Anne Marie Maag's dominating win with a time of 18:11.  South Eugene finished 2nd with 76 points.  Crater won the boys title with 59 points over Central Catholic, 75 points.  Matthew Melancon, Sheldon, won the individual title over Andy Bennison, Central Catholic, 15:36 to 15:38.  5A: Summit won the girls race with 35 points while Megan Fristoe, Summit, won the individual title with a time of 18:37.  Hermiston won the boys team title with 69 points while Ian Burgess, Franklin, rolled to the individual victory with a time of 15:56.  4A: Siuslaw won the girls team title with 62 points and Alisha Luna, Klamath Union, won the girls crown with a time of 18:36.  Philomath won the boys team title with 78 points.  Zorg Loustalet, Henley, won the boys individual title with a time of 16:04.  3A/2A/1A: Catlin Gabel won the girls team title with 90 points.  Austin Lundin won the individual title in 19:39.  Nyssa won the boys crown with 51 points while Corriveau Lucien, Chemawa, won the individual title with a time of 16:15 in a tight battle with Nyssa's Maag Ryan, also timed in 16:15.

Rhode Island State Championships, RI - Photos | Boys race video | Girls race video | Robert Allen of Cranston West fell short in his bid to break Andrew Springer's record, but he still captured the R.I. state meet with an impressive time of 15:30.86. Bishop Hendricken's Ryan Meehan was second at 15:37.57.  As a team, Hendricken won its third straight title with a narrow 77-79 win over second-place La Salle Academy.  On the girls' side, junior Molly Keating of La Salle copped her second consecutive individual crown with an 18:51.93 clocking. Cranston West's Molly Hackett took runner-up honors with a time of 19:03.43.  With four runners among the first seven finishers, La Salle took the team prize with a comfortable 30-52 decision over Barrington. Tennessee State Championships, TN - AAA: Photos | In the girls race Joanna Thompson, Knoxville Catholic, won with the fastest time of the day with a clocking of 17:51.10 to win by over a minute.  Oak Ridge won the team title with 79 points.  Will Templeton, Hardin Valley, won the boys race with a time of 16:05.87, the fastest of the day.  Hardin Valley won the team title with a score of 87 points. Washington State Champs, WA - US#6 Maddie Meyers (Photo, right, by David Taylor) tied the course record with a time of 17:34 in the girls 1A race. Later, in girls 3A Amy Eloise Neale won with a course record time of 17:31.8 to lead Glacier Peak to the team win with 41 points!
