Network to cut into scheduled programming to show race
 
Top two fastest sprinters ever race head to head in Stockholm on Friday, August 6 at 2:50 pm ET
 
August 5, 2010:  Universal Sports will break away from its regular programming on Friday, August 6, at 2:50 p.m. ET to show LIVE coverage of Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay’s 100 meter race showdown at the Diamond League meet in Stockholm, Sweden.  Coverage will remain LIVE on Universal Sports for the duration of the 100m race.  In addition, the IAAF Diamond League meet in Stockholm will be streamed LIVE on www.universalsports.com beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET for a subscription fee of $1.99 that includes access to the full-length VOD replay. The web site also will offer free highlights and expert analysis. The entire meet will be televised on Universal Sports at 8:00p ET on Friday night.
 
Bolt’s last defeat took place at the Stockholm track in 2008, just before the Summer Olympics in Beijing. Asafa Powell, who was expected to join the two world-class sprinters in Stockholm, dropped out late Wednesday due to an injury. With two of the three fastest sprinters in the world, Bolt and Gay, competing in this Friday’s race, viewers can expect one of the best matchups of the 2010 track and field season.
