With the 4A division so strong on the distance side, those events definitely shined, starting with the 3200m. Ryder Keeton of Niwot High School pulled off the upset over the Cheyenne Mountain boys, taking the victory. Hunter Robbie, his teammate, helped with this endeavor as he began to kick with 600m to go, stringing out the top pack. Robbie would end up 3rd, but helped out his team to a handful of points. Brogan Collins of Cheyenne Mountain would settle for the silver.
In the 800m, Niwot went 1-2, with Rocco Culpepper narrowly taking the victory over Quinn Sullivan both running 1:54. Behind these two was a slew of Thompson Valley boys, who finished 3rd-5th. Naturally, Niwot High School won the 4x800m relay and Thompson Valley was second.
On the sprints side, the hurdles were the most exciting, starting with Mason Znamenacek of Grand Junction High School, who ran 13.93 in the 110m hurdle final to win the state title. He was the only hurdler to break 14 seconds over the week...
