POLL: Kansas Boys TF Athlete of the Week (5/5-5/10)

Last week's Shawnee Mission North Relays turned the Kansas leaderboard on its head, as it often does. The meet is a great lead-in to what should be a fun week of league and conference meets on tap!

Shout out to last week's poll winner: St. James Academy's Noah SchowengerdtSchowengerdt dropped a massive 800 meter personal best at the Saints + Mustangs Invitational on Friday, hitting 1:53.67 for the win. At the time, he was the only Kansan under 1:54. He will join all of our previous winners in the end-of-season Performer of the Year poll.

Week 5: Jensen Schrickel - Topeka Hayden

Jaalan Watson - Olathe North - Watson had the top 100 meter dash mark of the week, running 10.55 at the Shawnee Mission North Relays. He is now 5th in the State and 3rd in 6A.

Isaiah Terry - Washburn Rural - Terry had the top 400 meter mark of the week with his 48.37 winner at Topeka - Joe Schrag City Meet. He has run under 49 at all 5 of his meets this year and sits third overall in Kansas with his 48.20 personal best.

Cody Hammond - Central Heights - Hammond dropped the hammer (even with a large cast on his arm) on Friday when he took down a loaded field to win the Shawnee Mission North Relays 800 meter run. His new personal best and school record time of 1:52.57 is KS No. 1 this season by over a second and KS No. 8 all-time. He also anchored his 4x800 team to a 7:57.31 school record and KS 2A State record, per our database.

Bravin Powell-Brown - Gardner Edgerton - Bravin Powell-Brown is having a breakthrough senior season for Gardner Edgerton. He ran 14.27 in the 110m hurdles at Friday's Shawnee Mission North Relays, the top time in 6A so far this season.

Karson Palmer - Arkansas City - Palmer continued his rise in the Discus this season. He had the top mark of the week at the Circle Varsity Invitational: 178-5, No. 2 in 5A up to this point.
