Just like on the girls' side, the distance events will be exciting, especially in the 4x800m relay. Currently there are three teams under 8 minutes including Coronado High School, who ran 7:54, Thompson Valley who ran 7:55 early in the season, and Cheyenne Mountain, who recently ran 7:58. Thompson Valley High School definitely has the best list of 800m runners in terms of who is in the top 18, but Coronado and Cheyenne Mountain High School have the names as well to challenge for the state title. Another team that could play spoiler is Niwot High School, who has ran 8:00 so far this season, but has the potential to put together a team that could run with these other names as well.
All of those teams listed above have at least two or more athletes ranked in the distance events, making the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m some of the more stacked races in the whole state of Colorado.
For the field events, the discus could be the most exciting with the top two names tied currently at 161-0...
