---
The 2025 Florida Relays lived up to the hype, producing a wave of national-leading performances, thrilling relay battles, and historic marks across the board on both the boys and girls sides.
Boys Recap
In the boys 400m, Quincy Wilson continued his dominance, tying the U.S. No. 1 mark with a season-best time of 45.27. Wilson, still undefeated this year, held off a strong challenge from Tywan Cox, who clocked an impressive 46.29. Over in the 800m, Bullis School's Colin Abrams dropped a statement race of his own, becoming just the third boy to break 1:50 this season with a U.S. No. 3 time of 1:49.75. It marked Abrams' first sub-1:50 performance outdoors.
The sprint hurdles saw Le'Ezra Brown unleash a wind-aided 13.21 in the 110m hurdles, the fastest time in the country this year under all conditions. That momentum carried into the relays, where the fireworks kept coming. Archbishop Carroll (DC) took a narrow win in the 4x100m, running a U.S. No. 4 time of 40.23 to out lean American Heritage (FL), who came through in 40.32 for U.S. No. 8.
The 4x200m race was just as close, with Miami Northwestern securing a narrow win over Flanagan and Mandarin. Northwestern stopped the clock at 1:24.21, good for U.S. No. 3, while Flanagan's 1:24.58 earned them U.S. No. 5 and Mandarin followed with a U.S. No. 7 mark of 1:24.66.
One of the weekend's marquee races came in the 4x400m, where Miami Northwestern and Bullis School clashed in a heavyweight showdown. Northwestern came away with the victory, clocking a U.S. No. 1 time of 3:08.74-good for No. 8 all-time in U.S. high school history and making them just the ninth team ever to break the 3:09 barrier. Bullis finished second in 3:09.97, the second-fastest time in the nation this season.
The 4x800m was equally stacked, with the top three teams in the country all emerging from this meet. Spanish River took the win with a U.S. No. 1 time of 7:42.52, edging out Dillard (7:42.95) and Cardinal Newman (7:43.78), who now hold the No. 2 and No. 3 spots on the national leaderboard.
In the field, Nethan Verger joined an elite group by becoming just the fifth boy this year to leap beyond 25 feet, landing a U.S. No. 3 mark of 25 feet and three-quarters of an inch in the long jump. The javelin saw a pair of top national performances as well, with Kaleb Williams claiming victory with a throw of 199-3 for U.S. No. 7 mark, while runner-up Josiah Allen hit 197-1 for U.S. No. 10 mark.
Girls Recap
On the girls side, it was Dana Wilson who stole the spotlight with one of the most electrifying sprint doubles in recent memory. She ran a U.S. No. 1 time of 11.09 in the 100m and came back with a 22.45 in the 200m, also a national leader. Both times rank fifth all-time in U.S. high school history. In the 200m, she held off Bullis star Sydney Sutton, who ran 22.70 for U.S. No. 2.
The 400m was a major highlight as well, with five of the top ten national times being posted. Tyra Cox led the way with a U.S. No. 2 time of 52.60, becoming just the third girl to dip under 53 seconds this season. She was followed closely by Nakira Hudson (53.29, U.S. No. 4), Journee Belcher (53.34, U.S. No. 6), Kennedy Brown (53.47, U.S. No. 7), and Taylor-Nicole Overton (53.62, U.S. No. 9).
In the 100m hurdles, Kassidy Hopkins edged out Alexia Reid in a tight race, finishing in 13.37 for U.S. No. 4, just ahead of Reid's 13.41, which ranks fifth nationally.
The Bullis girls were dominant in the relays, securing wins in both the 4x100m and 4x400m. Their 4x100m squad crossed the line in 44.95, the fourth-fastest time in the country this season. But it was their 4x400m performance that stood out the most, as they clocked a blistering 3:35.44 for U.S. No. 1-a time that now ranks fifth all-time. That mark trails only Montverde Academy's national record and three other Bullis teams from earlier this year.
The girls 4x800m produced four of the top five national times, led by Dillard High School's winning mark of 9:00.52. That time now sits at U.S. No. 2, just two-tenths of a second off the national lead.
Rounding out the weekend, Victoria Hill soared to a tie for U.S. No. 2 in the long jump, landing at 20 feet, 5 inches-matching two other jumpers and sitting just behind the national leader.
From record-breaking relays to elite individual efforts, the Florida Relays delivered one of the most competitive and memorable weekends of the season so far, reshaping the national leaderboard in nearly every event and setting the stage for an exciting stretch run to the outdoor postseason.
