Female distance and sprint stars join Nike as part of brand's efforts to expand the sport for next generation.

Nike Signs Jane Hedengren, Sophia Rodriguez, And Dana Wilson To NIL Deals

Nike has announced the signings of distance standouts Jane Hedengren and Sophia Rodriguez, and sprint star Dana Wilson to Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) partnerships. The brand credited the signings as part of its ongoing effort to expand the sport for the next generation. All three athletes competed in the 2025 Nike Indoor Nationals over the weekend.

Jane Hedengren

Hedengren holds the championship title for the 2024 Nike Cross-Country Nationals and holds the course record, was named the Gatorade Cross-Country Girls National Player of 2024, and has won multiple national championships in the mile and 2-mile events. 

Last weekend, Hedengren broke the U20 5k national record at 15:13 and the mile record at 4:26.14 at the Nike Indoor Nationals.

She was 2024 COROS MileSplit50 Girls XC Athlete of the Year and currently ranks third in the 2025 COROS MileSplit50 Indoor Track & Field Rankings.

Hedengren attends Timpview High School in Provo, Utah (class of 2025), and is committed to continuing her athletic and academic career at Brigham Young University.

Sophia Rodriguez

Rodriguez is a middle- and long-distance runner specializing in the mile, 2-mile, 3k, 5k and long-distance events. At the age of 14, Rodriguez broke the World Record in the 2-mile with a time of 10:12 and the 5000m at 16:22. She was named the 2024 Washington Cross-Country Gatorade Player of the Year, she is the course record holder and undefeated runner in the WIAA State Cross-Country championships and is a 5-time Nike All-American.

Rodriguez finished seventh in the girl's Championship two mile and 10th in the girl's Championship mile at Nike Indoor Nationals last weekend.

She's ranked #20 in the most recent COROS MileSplit50 Indoor Track & Field Rankings.

Rodriguez attends Mercer Island High School in Mercer Island, Washington (class of 2027).

Dana Wilson

Wilson is a decorated sprinter, having achieved multiple state and national titles in the 55m/60m, 100m, and 200m. She won the  2024 Brooks PR in the 100m, earned the #1 all-time NCISAA outdoor title for the 100m and 200m, is the #2 all-time 60m indoor sprinter, shares the #1 North Carolina title for the 60m indoor. At the 2025 Nike Indoor Nationals, Wilson took home championship titles in the 60m (meet record) and 200m (meet and facility record).

She is #6 in the most recent COROS MileSplit50 Indoor Track & Field Rankings.

Wilson attends Greensboro Day School in Greensboro, North Carolina (class of 2025) and is committed to the University of Tennessee.
