Tate Taylor of Harlan High School in San Antonio, Texas made history in the boys indoor 200m final at Nike Indoor Nationals, delivering an astonishing performance that saw him drop from a season-best time of 21.09 seconds entering the meet, to an impressive 20.46 seconds. His stunning 0.63-second improvement not only secured him the win but also set a new National Record, eclipsing the previous mark of 20.48 seconds set by Issam Asinga at the 2023 New Balance Nationals Indoor.
Taylor's breakthrough time also shattered multiple records, including the Armory High School meet record of 20.63 seconds, previously held by none other than Noah Lyles in 2016. Additionally, Taylor's performance broke the Junior record of 20.62 seconds, which was set by Jaylen Slade in 2021.
