Quincy Leads Bullis Boys to National Record
Bullis School set a new high school national record in the boys' 4x400m relay at New Balance Nationals Indoor with a time of 3:09.44. They dominated the race, leading from start to finish, winning by nearly 5 seconds. Cameron Homer (47.5), Alexander Lambert (47.6), Colin Abrams (48.4), and Quincy Wilson (45.9) made up the winning team, marking the first time any team broke 3:10 indoors.
Bullis Girls Break the 4x400m National Record
Bullis School dominated the girls' 4x400m relay at New Balance Nationals Indoor, setting a new high school national record and meet record with a time of 3:35.54. They trailed after the first leg but quickly took control, leading by 1 second at 800m, 3 seconds at 1200m, and finishing 7 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Tatum Lynn (55.57), Kennedy Brown (53.30), Morgan Rothwell (53.70), and Sydney Sutton (52.96) made up the team, with Sutton anchoring the victory. This performance marked the first-ever high school team to break 3:36 indoors.
Cooper Sets U.S. #2 200m Time All-Time
In the Girls 200m final at the New Balance Nationals, Elise Cooper of McDonogh (MD) delivered a stellar performance, taking first place with a time of 22.64. This mark not only earned her the New '25 US #1 ranking but also positions her as the second-fastest all-time performer in the event, trailing only Adaejah Hodge's 22.33 from 2023. Cooper's remarkable time solidifies her as one of the top sprinters in the country.
Finishing in second place was Lisa Raye from West Warwick (RI) , who crossed the line in 23.00. Raye's performance ranks her as New '25 US #3, showcasing her strength on the track as she continues to compete at the highest level. Both athletes put on an impressive display of speed, with Cooper's 22.64 cementing her place in history.
Raye Wins 60m Final
Lisa Raye of West Warwick (RI) dominated the New Balance Girls 60m Final with a commanding performance, finishing first in 7.30 seconds. Raye was the top runner from the very beginning, holding the #1 spot throughout the prelims, semis, and final, showcasing her consistency and ability to perform under pressure. She ranks as the #1 runner for the event this season with her National Record time of 7.13.
A U.S. #1 Time for Odey-Jordan Caps a Spectacular Meet for Him
In the Boys 200m final at the New Balance Nationals, Jake Odey-Jordan of Archbishop Carroll (DC) claimed the victory with an impressive time of 20.90, securing the New '25 US #1 ranking. His performance not only earned him the win but also tied him for 14th all-time in the event, solidifying his place among the elite sprinters in history.
Jesse Myers of State College (PA) finished in second place with a strong 20.99, which ranks him as New '25 US #4. Myers' time ties him for 23rd all-time in the event, demonstrating his exceptional sprinting prowess.
Brown and Cramer Run All-Time Top Ten Times
Kyler Brown of Booker T. Washington delivered an exceptional performance in the New Balance Boys 60m Finals, claiming victory with a time of 6.61 seconds. This run not only secured him the win but also placed him among the top indoor performers, tying for 5th all-time in the event.
Cole Isaac Cramer of Southern Regional followed closely behind, clocking 6.62 seconds to take second place. His time ties him for 7th all-time indoors, solidifying his place among the best in the nation and the best all-time.
A Win for Canada in the Boys Mile
The boys' mile was a tactical race from start to finish, with no one making a move until the final 200 meters. Robin Lefebvre of Montreal, QC, played it smart, staying patient and waiting for the right moment to strike. As the race unfolded, the field remained tightly packed, and it was anyone's race. But in the last 200 meters, Lefebvre surged ahead, breaking through and pulling away from the competition to finish strong with a time of 4:05.22. Aiden Monistere from Louisiana, followed closely behind, finishing in second with a time of 4:06.31, and securing the #10 spot in the U.S. rankings for 2025. Lefebvre's move in the final stretch demonstrated his tactical savvy and ability to execute when it mattered most.
Heat 13 of the Girls Mile Excels at NBNI
The New Balance Mile showcased an impressive array of talent, with Brooke Strauss of Connecticut, taking the victory in 4:39.53. Strauss, who claimed the New '25 US #3 spot, led a competitive field, finishing just ahead of Claire Stegall of Tennessee, who ran a strong 4:39.89 to secure second place. Stegall's performance also placed her as the New '25 US #4.
Third place went to Hanne Thomsen from California, who crossed the line in 4:40.58, marking her as the New '25 US #5. Not far behind, Chloe Huyler of Oregon finished in 4:40.66 for fourth, earning the New '25 US #6 spot.
Sophia Bendet from Texas, took fifth with a time of 4:42.05, moving her into the New '25 US #8 position, while Mallory Weller from the Indiana rounded out the top six with a 4:42.13, claiming the New '25 US #9 ranking. This race demonstrated an exciting level of competition among the nation's top distance talent.
Shuttle Hurdles Relay Meet Records Broken
The Shuttle Hurdle Championships saw record-breaking performances from both North Track Club (Toms River North HS) in the boys' race and Bullis in the girls' race.
North Track Club won the boys' title in 29.31, breaking the previous meet record of 29.71 set in 2024 by Hoover Elite. The team of Camryn Thomas, Jael Hester, Mordecai Ford, and Mamadi Diawara executed clean handoffs and strong hurdle technique to dominate the field.
Bullis took the girls' title in 31.36, smashing the previous meet record of 31.99 set by Motor City TC in 2022. Solai Russell, Kassidy Hopkins, Gabby White, and Tatum Lynn put together a nearly flawless race, securing the win with a commanding lead.
