Over the last month and a half, distance stars across the country have re-written the records books over and over.
Earlier this month, Ventura (Calif.) star Sadie Engelhardt ran 4:27.97 at the 117th Millrose Games, breaking Mary Cain's longstanding record of 4:27.97, which she set at the same meet 12 years ago.
Over the weekend, Timpview (Utah) standout Jane Hedengren ran the second-fastest 2-mile of all time at 4500 feet above sea level. At the Simplot Games, the BYU commit won the 3200m in 9:37.50, just seconds back of May Cain's record.
In addition to this pair of record-breaking runs, athletes from coast to coast have re-wrote history of their own throughout the distance record books.
