As state championships signal the beginning of the end of the 2025 indoor season, these four underclassmen are continuing to take advantage of every opportunity they get to compete.
Even though they're still figuring out their place in the high school track & field landscape, these four athletes are already excelling and holding their own against the big dogs.
Check out the next four 'Future Stars' of the indoor season.
SEAN REITH
Providence Pastures Running Club (Ohio)
Class of 2028
Heading into the YSU High School Meet #4, Reith had raced the 1600m four times this season and had consistently come close to finally breaking the 4:20 barrier. Reith was the top freshman and second-fastest underclassman in a field of 98 total runners. Crossing in 4:16.36, Reith is now the freshman national leader in the event, and just a second and a half shy from becoming the fastest freshman in high school history. Reith is the fastest underclassman in Ohio history, and the fastest freshman by nearly eight seconds.

MASSANDJE COMARA
Class of 2028
Throughout the season, Comara has cemented herself as one of the top up-and-coming track athletes in the nation. At the Region 5C Indoor Championships in Hampton, Virginia, the freshman won the 500m title with a PB of 1:14.78. As she comfortably took down experienced upperclassmen, Comara moved up to No. 8 in the all-time freshman record books, and the eighth freshman to ever break 1:15. She's also the fastest Virginia freshman since 2009 and is No. 2 all-time.
MALCOLM CROW
Class of 2027
For the first time in his career, the Kentucky-based sophomore surpassed 46-0, jumping 46-4 at the KTCCA President's Day Invite. Before last weekend, Crow's lifetime best was 45-0, but after improving by a foot-and-a-half, Crow is already the tenth-best triple jumper in Kentucky history and is one of just 15 athletes to jump 46-0 or farther. The sophomore was already the class record holder and is now the national leader in the class.

BLAIR BARTLETT
The Lawrenceville Schoo (N.J.)
Class of 2027
The sophomore has been on a tear all season, competing across six different distances and notching PBs in each one. At the NJSIAA Prep A and B Championships, Bartlett set a new best in the 3200m, winning in 10:29.59. Bartlett also finished runner-up in the 1600m, running 4:53.86, two seconds slower than her season best. Bartlett is No. 3 on New Jersey's all-time sophomore list and is the tenth sophomore to break 10:30 in state history. She is also the eighth-fastest 1600m runner in state history.
