It was a record-setting weekend across the country as high school girls put together one of the best weekends of the year. There were national records intertwined with a slew of elite performances.
The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, February 13, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
Take a look at five of the top-performing girls from last weekend.
Makenna Herbst, ProCaliber Track Club (Calif.): At the 117th Millrose Games, Herbst joined an incredible list of 600m runners in the top five of the all-time list. Herbst crossed the line as the clock read 1:28.6, knocking over a second off of her PB. The future Arkansas Razorback is just the 14th high school girl to ever break 1:30, and one of two to do so this season.
Dylan McElhinney, Hunter College Schools (Pa.): Besides national record holder and superstar miler Sadie Engelhardt, McElhinney is the best miler in the U.S. this year. The senior out of New York clocked 4:42.82 to win the Nike Girls Mile, leading seven girls under 4:50. McElhinney now sits No. 5 on New York's all-time list, nestled in between NCAA national champions and All-Americans.
Jane Hedengren, Timpview (Utah): The 2025 NXN champ is off to a hot start this indoor season, most recently running 4:36.23 to win the Rep Distance Classic 1600m, a new Utah state record. Hedengren won by 24 seconds. The BYU-bound senior is quickly cementing herself as one of the best distance runners in high school history.
Lisa Raye, West Warwick (R.I.): She was already nominated earlier this season, but breaking the 60m national record in front of a roaring crowd warrants another nomination. Raye stopped the clock at 6.63, becoming the first girl to run quicker than 7.15. She held off a loaded field en route to her national record and is toward the top of the national leaderboard in the 200m and long jump as well.
Jessica Oji, Livingston (N.J.): At the Essex County Indoor Relay Championships, Oji launched the shot put on her third throw of the series, registering a mark of 57-4.5, the No. 2 mark in high school indoor history. Oji is now a mere inch shy of breaking the national record of 27-5.5. The senior improved her season-best by just under four feet.
