Belen senior Joseph Socarras led the state last year in the 1,600m with a 4:04.53. He was second in the state rankings in the 800m with a 1:51.32. In the 1,600 he will be challenged by two of the best sophomores in the state, his teammate, Marcelo Mantecon and Andrew Beroset of Gulf Breeze. In the 800m, joining him in the 3A division is the 2024 state leader and 3A state champion, senior Alejandro de Bastos of Pembroke Pines Charter who  ran a 1:50.77.
