Just months after their cross country seasons came to a close, these four distance prodigies are off to a quick start this indoor season, already running their way to the top of the record books and the national leaderboard.
Check out the next four 'Future Stars' of the indoor season.
MIA SIROIS
Barrington (Ill.)
Class of 2027
After a sophomore campaign that saw her win eight of her ten races, Sirois opened up her track season with a pair of races at the CYUP Misfits Invite. She threw down a big-time win in the 2 Mile, clocking a new PB of 10:15.24, before running 4:51.49 in the Girls HOKA Mile. The defending 3A cross country state champion moved up the Illinois record books thanks to both performances, sitting at No. 2 and No. 4 in the sophomore class record books, chasing both of Katelynne Hart's (Glen Ellyn) records.

JONATHAN GRIMM
Jamestown (Va.)
Class of 2028
Just a freshman, Grimm had himself a weekend at The VA Showcase, doubling up in the 1600m and 3200m. In just his second and third race of 2025, he ran lifetime bests of 4:19.77 and 9:26.17. Grimm was one 13 boys to break 9:30, but the only freshman to do so. After finishing runner-up at the VHSL Class 4 State Championships in November, it's clear Grimm is on pace to be one of the next great distance runners the state of Virginia has seen. The freshman took down Derrick Robbins' (Denbigh) from 2002, as well as Thomas Porter's (Mountain View) 3200m record he set back in 2006.

ELIN LATTA
South Texas Heat Homeschool (Texas)
Class of 2028
During her first high school cross country season, the standout went sub-17 over 5k, becoming just the third Texas freshman to ever run that quick. At the CYUP Misfits Invite, Latta clocked 4:43.92 in the mile, a new freshman class state record. Latta didn't leave anything up to chance, winning by nearly seven seconds over a talented field that saw five other girls run sub-5:00. Latta is the fastest girl in the country up to this point, and the only one to have run 4:45 or faster. For now, Latta sits No. 37 on the all-time freshman list.

JACKSON MILLER
St. Louis University High School (Mo.)
Class of 2027
The mid-distance specialist opted for the 1000m and mile at the CYUP Misfits Invite, notching a first and second-place finish in the two events. In the shorter of the two, Miller picked up the win in 2:32.5, becoming one of the top-35 fastest sophomore in high school history. Though he didn't win the mile, Miller still ran a lifetime best as well the fastest time ever ran by a Missouri sophomore, 4:12.81. As a freshman, MIller's mile PB was 4:12.66, coming at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. In just his third track race of his sophomore indoor campaign, Miller is less than a quarter of a second from an all-time best.
