The UW Preview in Seattle was a showcase of high school talent, with Crater seniors Josiah Tostenson and Tayvon Kitchen delivering standout performances. In the Invitational Mile, Tostenson and Kitchen competed against collegiate athletes, finishing 28th and 30th in a field of 53 runners. Tostenson clocked an impressive 4:03.69, earning the U.S. #1 time this season, while Kitchen followed closely with a 4:04.96, the U.S. #2 mark. They are the only high school boys to dip under 4:05 this year, solidifying their dominance in the event. Tostenson also shone in the collegiate open 1000m, finishing 5th with a personal best of 2:27.64, the U.S. #6 time this season.

Kitchen returned to the track alongside Owen Powell in the collegiate open 3000m, where both delivered remarkable performances. Kitchen finished 17th with a time of 8:02.02, setting a new U.S. #1 mark for the season and climbing to #5 on the all-time indoor 3000m list. Powell was close behind, placing 20th with a time of 8:04.83, which now ranks as the U.S. #2 time this season and #6 all-time indoors. These performances not only highlight the exceptional talent of these high school athletes but also their ability to compete and excel against collegiate competition.
