Date: Nov. 23rd, Nike Cross Nationals Southwest Regional
Breakdown: Jane Hedengren stunned the NXR Southwest Regional field with the fastest 5K ever recorded in high school girls' cross country history, finishing in a remarkable 15:50.01-41 seconds ahead of second place. This performance makes Hedengren only the second high school girl to break 16:00 on a cross-country course, joining Jenna Hutchins' 15:58.42 in 2020. The Timpview senior and BYU commit, already a standout in track with a 9:45.44 3200m, 4:37.17 mile, and 2:07.85 800m, now adds 'course record holder' to her impressive list of accomplishments.

November 2nd:
For the third straight year, Katelyn Rupe is the KSHSAA 5A State Champion. Rupe took down previously undefeated Ryin Miller of Topeka-Seaman (Kan.) before the rain came down, running 17:09.77 for a 17-second win. Rupe also ran the fastest time in Rim Rock Farm history, becoming the first-ever girl to run under 17:10. Continue reading...

Christian Brothers Academy delivered another historic performance at the NJSIAA Group Championships on Saturday at Holmdel Park. CBA broke its own course record with an average time of 15:50.0, becoming the first team in state history to place five runners under 15:55 in the same race. Mia Sirois of Barrington (Ill.) made history at the IHSA Cross Country State Championship, setting a new Illinois all-time record with a time of 15:53.4, breaking Judy Pendergast's previous mark of 15:53.8. Keegan Smith dominated the NXN Southeast Regional with a course record time of 14:23.3, setting new marks for the Wakemed Soccer Complex, Tennessee All-Time State, and U.S. 5,000-meter rankings. The previous course record was held by Brodey Hasty (14:32.3) at the 2016 Great American, while the Tennessee State Record was 14:29, set by Silas Winders in 2019.
