Senior Jose Barrera from San Diego High School triumphed in a close finish at the 3A Boys 5K race at the UIL 1A-6A Region 4 Championship in Corpus Christi, TX. In a nail-biting finish, Barrera made an incredible last-minute kick after trailing Gary Custer of Hebbronville the final 50 meters, winning 16:29.53 to Custer's 16:30.38.
