Although a lot of states took some well-deserved time off this last weekend, a lot of stars kept the momentum with big-time wins around the country.

While Texans began their postseason with District meets, Californians traveled to Fresno, California for the annual Clovis Invite, where they got a preview of the CIF State Championship course.

Regardless of where these five girls raced, they took full advantage of both the field and racing conditions to boost their resume.

The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct. 17, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Take a look at five of the top-performing boys from last weekend.

This Week's Nominees:

Sadie Engelhardt, Ventura (Calif.): In just her second race of the season, the Ventura phenom picked up a big-time win at the ASICS Clovis Invitational. Engelhardt, who stepped up to the line with a 5k PB of 16:39, took down a star-studded field in 16:24.2, a 15-second PB and the fastest time in the country this year, also. The NC State commit and six-time state champion is looking like a national title contender and is the only girl sub-16:30 this fall.

Chloe Huyler, Lakeridge (Ore.): Over the last five weeks, the Lakeridge senior has won all five of her races, most recently lowering her PB at the 4th Annual Rose City Championship Invite. Huyler held off in-state foe Emily Wisniewski of Crescent Valley (Ore.), with the pair running 16:32 and 16:35, respectively. Huyler has broken 17:00 twice this season and hasn't ran slower than 17:21 in her other three races.

Gabbie Bishop, Providence Academy (Ark.): The junior's dream season keeps on getting better, as Bishop became the second Arkansas girl to ever run under 17:00, winning the Springdale Schools Invitational in 16:58.21, a 12-second PB. Bishop led the way for a Patriot 1-2-3 finish, helping her squad take the team title as well. Bishop is 5-2 on the year and has yet to finish outside the top five.

Macy Wingard, Denton-Braswell (Texas): The Texas standout continues to have a chokehold on the UIL landscape, this time thanks to a dominant win at her UIL 6A District meet. The junior broke 17:00 for the first time since winning a state title last November, this time running 16:44 for a 13-second PB. Wingard won by eight seconds as she broke Samantha Humphries' course record of 16:52.

Brianna Reilly, Harrisburg (S.D.): The middle school sensation continued to make waves in the Midwest, winning the ESD XC Meet in Huron, South Dakota. Reilly clocked 17:10.36, just seven seconds back of her lifetime best. Reilly currents sits No. 1 in all of South Dakota and is the fifth-fastest middle schooler in U.S. history. While competing against girls who are over five years older than her, Reilly has posted a 4-2 record.
