The ripple effects of Woodbridge can still be felt across the country.

For some teams, the effect has been dormancy since the big race. The top four teams from that race have not put together another significant effort since heading to California. Other teams have found the fast, flat topography of Woodbridge isn't replicated elsewhere, as JSerra, Herriman, and Carroll all saw 'off' performances in their next major outings.

Mountain Vista (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) is the biggest mover and shaker of the session, as they are putting the pieces together of a national title squad. Their eyes are on December but have given a glimpse of greatness in their last two outings. The East Coast saw two stellar matchups, as Bethlehem (Delmar, N.Y.) took on Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, N.J.), and Cardinal Gibbons (Raleigh, N.C.) met with James W. Robinson (Fairfax, Va.).

The Southwest still has more teams than any other two regions combined, but the field isn't as dominated as it is on the boys' side of things. Currently, it looks like the Midwest, South, and New York will be fighting for the final two at-large spots, with the SW earning a rightful two.

This weekend will see the Manhattan Invitational and Clovis give the major teams another showing since their major debuts, and we expect some more shuffling in the ranks to occur again.
