Analysis: If you thought the other teams from Texas on this list were good, (which they are) wait until you hear about the Texas powerhouse that is Southlake Carroll. The five-time defending champions of Texas' biggest classification is eyeing six straight UIL titles, and even with the talent their challengers have, it's going to take a lot to end the dynasty. Caden Leonard has won two state titles since the start of his sophomore year last fall, winning the UIL 6A individual cross country title, as well as the 1600m title on the track in the spring. He's also the second-fastest returner, and simply one of the best racers the state has to offer. When you combine him with the additional firepower that Carroll has in their arsenal, you get the team to beat at both the UIL Championships and NXR South, a meet they've won handily the last two years.
