Analysis: Boasting some of the best high school athletics in Vermont, Champlain Valley Union High School girls cross country is the cream of the crop. For the seventh time since 2000, last season they came away victorious as the New England Champions. The CVU girls last season went a perfect 7-0 in Vermont, culminating in a perfect score at the Vermont State Meet. The girls then went on to the NXR Northeast Regional where they finished 3rd overall with 98 points, narrowly missing out on a Nike Cross Nationals berth.
The CVU girls return all seven runners from that NXR Northeast Regional, with an all-upperclassmen group this season that consists of four seniors and three juniors. They are anchored by a strong top-four group of girls, a group that finished 16th, 17th, 25th and 29th at that NXR Northeast Regional.
