2023 Notable XC Finishes: 1st at the National High School Trail Championships, 1st at the Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational, 2nd at the 5A Colorado State Cross Country Championships, 41st at the NXR Southwest Regional, 7th at Foot Locker Midwest Regional and 9th at Foot Locker Nationals.
Analysis: The Fighting Irish commit already started off the cross country season strong with a 2-mile performance of 9:45 to notch what he hopes is the first of many wins this season. Last season, Anderson started off his season strong with four straight wins, including a win at the Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational with his 5K PR of 14:48.90. He then finished strong with a 2nd place finish at the 5A Colorado State XC Championships, 7th place finish at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional and an even stronger 9th place finish at Foot Locker Nationals.
Anderson brought that momentum with him this track and field season, with a 5th-place finish in the 800m (1:54.76), 2nd place in the 1600m (4:15.26) and 3rd place in the 3200m (9:15.57) at the Colorado State Track and Field Championships. He then went on to finish 6th at the RunningLane Track Championships in the 3200m with a stellar time of 8:52.12.
