Analysis: In her second year of high school cross country, Wingard managed to finish within the top three all but one of her eight races, finishing 18th at Nike Cross Nationals.
One of Wingard's wins came in Round Rock, TX, where the sophomore won her first UIL title in 16:57.0, also marking the first time she broke the 17:00 barrier.
Her sophomore track season was just as impressive as she ran as fast as 10:17.7 and 4:50.5 in the 3200m and 1600m, both at the UIL State Championships.
