Analysis: Last fall, Hedengren only raced a handful of times on the grass, but every time she did she made it count. Hedengren won all three races, two of those being the coveted Woodbridge Classic in Irvine, CA, as well as the 2023 Utah 5A state title.
On the track, Hedengren didn't miss a beat, running a personal best of 9:48.77 in the 2 Mile and a SB of 4:35.5 over 1600m. Utah's top dog added a national title at Nike Outdoor Nationals, also finishing runner-up in the 2 mile at Brooks PR.
Hedengren has yet to race at any of the national post-season cross country meets, but don't be surprised if an athlete of her caliber joins in on the fun before she graduates next spring.
