Analysis: In the year 2024, Claire Stegall has yet to be beaten, going a crisp 11-0 throughout the 400m, 800m, 1600m and 3200m. She added a pair of state championships to her growing list of accolades, all after a stress fracture kept her from training much throughout last winter.
With her legs back under her and vengeance on the brain, Stegall will surely be a factor throughout the fall season. She won three out of her five cross-country races as a junior, one of those being her second state title.
Stegall broke 17:00 for just the second time at the Foot Locker South Region, notching a PB of 16:51.71. The senior was one of the top contenders for a Foot Locker title last December, but unfortunately, a nasty fall brought her season to an end prematurely.
