Analysis: Up until a few weeks ago, Gianna Rahmer had yet to make her official high school debut. As an eighth grader, Rahmer absolutely dominated the New Mexico ranks, winning four state titles in total, as well as a NXR Southwest title. She also finished sixth in her first-ever Nike Cross Nationals, running 17:38.9.
Rahmer went as fast as 16:58.01, becoming just the second eighth grader to ever run under 17:00.
In her debut track season, Rahmer tallied three state titles and ran PB's of 10:45.69, 4:52.68 and 2:13.44 in the 3200m, 1600m and 800m.
