WATCH: This 15-Year-Old Didn't Wait Around In The 200m

GREENSBORO -- The next generation of stars are always somewhere at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

On Wednesday, we found our latest next-in-waiting.

Her name is Vanessa Waite (video start: 1:22), and the Class of 2028 teenager from Groveland, Florida made herself known over 200 meters, clocking a blitzing time of 23.26 seconds over the girls 15-16yo semifinals to demolish a 14-year record last held by Kendall Baisden.

What's more impressive, however, is that the performance also tied a eighth-grade class national record formerly held by Tamari Davis -- who's currently in Paris representing the U.S. and is among the squad's relay pool.

Waite entered with a career best 23.37 from the FLYRA Middle School State Championships in May and also brewed up a U.S. No. 12 time.
