WATCH: Stefon Dodoo Clinches 800m Title At AAU

GREENSBORO -- Great athletes wear their confidence.

On Wednesday, Stefon Dodoo, a rising high school senior for Springside Chestnut Hill (PA), certainly had it at AAU Junior Olympic Games.

The half-miler from Philadelphia was positioned to win his first title at 800 meters.

He grabbed the lead after 200 meters, moved through the halfway point at 54.91 seconds, then begun to assert himself over the final section, holding off Fidelis Osunkwo and Co. as he secured the victory in 1:50.67 in the boys 17-18yo division.

Dodoo earned a bit of redemption after coming up just short of a title in 2023, clocking a time of 1:51.77.

His 2023 season included a personal best mark of 1:49.69 for 800m.

The time on Wednesday tied his second-best effort overall.
