11-Year-Old RJ Destremps Breaks A 3,000m AAU Record


GREENSBORO -- The first national record at the AAU Junior Olympic Games went down on Monday. 

It came by virtue of 11-year-old RJ Destremps of Tampa, Florida. 

The young harrier (Class of 2031) clocked a time of 9:45.82 to surpass Patricio Pardo's former mark of 9:48.26, which was achieved here in 2022, and also took down his former best of 9:48.65, which he achieved in May at the Middle School State Championships.
