Just like that, it's already time to start looking ahead to the 2024 cross country season.
There are plenty of star athletes ready to makes waves throughout the country this fall. We wanted to take a look at the top incoming freshmen boys based off of their eighth grade performance.
After finishing seventh in the open division at NXR Heartland in November, Erik Semling, a rising freshman at Winona Cotter (MN), posted a personal best of 15:43.50 over 5,000m, making him the second-fastest incoming freshman over the fall season.
Kaidin McQuire, meanwhile, is the top incoming first-year athlete with a top time of 15:41.21 from 2023.
