When it comes to fielding a dangerous 4x400m quartet, you first need four talented quarter-milers. Around the country, there are only a few programs who can realistically label themselves as elite.
But on paper, the Windsor (CT) High School boys are sneaky-talented.
Led by Maxim Copeland's PB of 47.15, Taeshawn Berry, Hunter Howard and Shelldon Simpson II follow with respective times of 47.69, 48.65 and 49.01. Based on their PRs, their on-paper best is 3:12.50. Over the course of the season, however, the team clocked a time of 3:17.92 -- good for a Connecticut No. 1 time and a U.S. No. 149 time.
The top of this list, however?
The top 4x400m team in the country this spring was the Bullis School (MD, and after the program and superstar Quincy Wilson ran 3:09.43 this last weekend at New Balance Nationals Outdoor, they shut the door on any questions.
