Year in and year out, the stars collide at the HOKA Festival of Miles.

Last Thursday, a pair of elite milers stole the show, as Ventura's (CA) Sadie Engelhardt and Butler's (PA) Drew Griffith achieved legendary marks.

Both superstars have left their mark on high school distance running, and aren't done yet.

Butler (PA) senior and Notre Dame recruit Drew Griffith is man of the hour.

A week ago today, Griffith continued his dominant stretch, taking down an absolutely loaded field at the HOKA Festival of Miles.

Griffith stuck right on the pacer's heels until he stepped off the track, eventually pulling away to win in 3:57.72.

Griffith hit the bell at roughly 2:59 and proceeded to close in a 58 to run the fifth-fastest time in high school history.

Heading into the HOKA Festival of Miles, Engelhardt was the national record-holder in the mile with a mark of 4:31.71.

In the girls championship, Pacers Homeschool (VA) senior Allie Zealand shattered the meet record, breaking the tape in 4:30.38 and becoming the first high school girl ever under 4:31.

How did the Ventura senior respond?

Well, Engelhardt reacted like the beast she is, finishing runner-up in the women's professional mile, clocking a time of 4:28.73 for a new national record.
