Most freshmen track athletes take time to adjust to college even if they were among the best in the high school ranks. Still, there are sometimes exceptions, as was the case earlier this month at the conference championships.
Below, we look at five true freshmen men who excelled at the conference meets. The list only includes men who competed at the high school level in the U.S. and were part of the high school Class of 2023.
