This past weekend, the best college track and field athletes competed in conference championship meets across the U.S.

It was a good chance to see how things may turn out at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, which takes place from March 7-9 at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.

Below, we examine five true freshmen who excelled at the conference meets.

The list only includes men who competed at the high school level in the U.S. and were part of the high school Class of 2023. It does not include athletes from other countries.
