Two State Finalists Will Face Each Other In Distance Events
* Madison Peters after she finished third at the UIL Cross Country State Championships
- - -
In the 1,600m and 3,200m, we will see a clash between Madison Peters and Emma Wade.
Peters finished fourth in the 1,600m and fifth in the 3,200m at this meet in 2022. Plus, she will have an opportunity to compete on her future home track in Aggie Land.
In 2023, she was seventh in the 1,600m and sixth in the 3,200m at the outdoor state championships. But she's already got momentum, with indoor times of 5:01 and 10:56 at the mile and two mile distances.
Wade, on the other hand, will make her first appearance on Texas A&M's campus.
The junior from Cedar Park already ran a 5:31 for the 1,600m this spring and has gone 5-flat in the mile at the Arkansas High School Invitational.
Wade also has experience competing at the state championships. Last year, she was eighth in both the 1,600m and 3,200m.
As these athletes compete in both the 1,600m and 3,200m, we could see some competitive racing and fast performances.
