Chris Mitchell has coached and taught at Washington Township (NJ) High School since 2001. He is an alumnus of the school, too, having graduated in 1996.

Mitchell is immersed in the school's history. He's followed the track program for more than 30 years. Still, Mitchell has never seen what he's now experiencing.

Washington Township, a public school located about 30 miles from downtown Philadelphia, currently has two U.S. No. 1 athletes in the 55m (Ajani Dwyer) and the 55m hurdles (Yashahya Brown).

"It's crazy how talented the two of them are," Mitchell said. "It's insane how talented they are. It doesn't matter what track (it is), they just come out and put it all out there every time. That's all that matters."

Dwyer and Brown are both seniors, but they have taken different paths to their current spots.
