Gatorade announced its state-by-state high school female runners of the year during its annual listing of the top athletes across the sport of cross country on Monday.
State, regional and national champions were honored, including Addison Ritzenhein, the reigning Nike Cross Nationals champion; Elizabeth Leachman, the reigning Foot Locker Nationals champion and the fastest girls runner for 5K this fall; and a long list of top-rating athletes across all classes.
