MileSplit freelancer Nick DeGeorge, a senior at Ventura High School and a member of the Cougars cross country team (he'll suit up at states on Saturday), takes us behind the scenes in the week leading into the CIF Southern Section XC Prelims, which took place on Nov. 10 at Mt. SAC in Walnut, California.
The Cougars prepared with a workout, took off on an easy run and then went to work on race day, scoring double wins in both of the Division 2 races. Ventura will finish off its California state season on Saturday at the state championships in Fresno, where the Cougars will look to earn a state title at Woodward Park.
