Boys individual times merge from all 4 classification races at the 2023 FHSAA State Championships.

Leon's Patrick Koon wrapped up one of the most successful FHSAA state championship careers in cross country on Friday winning his 3rd straight state title in the 3A classification.

Despite dealing with illness in recent weeks, Koon was still able to run the fastest time of the day in a 15:02 performance by the current course record holder and dispel challenges by the top runners from Belen Jesuit in Marcelo Mantecon and Joshua Ruiz.

Koon joins a short list of past runners to have ever three peated as boys cross country state champions in Florida with the most recentl being Nease's Rheinhardt Harrison in 4A, while Leon High School had another before in Matt Mizereck go on a three year run on titles too.

Hopefully, Koon will get back to full health in a quick turnaround to attempt to qualify for his second Foot Locker Nationals next Saturday at the South Regional qualifier in Charlot...
