With our first official weekend of Nike Cross Country Regionals on deck, there are a ton of senior boys who are eager to end their high school career on a high note, after years of hard work and progression.
As a freshman, Gardner-Edgerton's (KS) Parker Walion had a season best of 20:30.6. This fall, Walion ran 15:03.0, a phenomenal 4:02.9 improvement from his freshman year. Walion is one of the many senior boys across the country that have made incredible jumps in their fitness throughout their high school career.
Colin Eckerman, a senior at Webb School of Knoxville and Asher Danielson from Ida B. Wells-Barnett are the next two seniors who have made the biggest jump from their freshman to senior seasons. Eckerman clocked 14:51.54 this season, a 2:57.48 improvement from his freshman year. Danielson clocked 14:47.10, which is a 2:56.8 jump from 2020.
