Mia Brahe-Pedersen, the No. 1 recruit in the girls Class of 2024, will be announcing her college commitment on Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
The Lake Oswego High School senior is an all-time prep athlete who reached all the way to the U.S. women's 100 meter Championship in July, where she finished seventh at just the age of 17.
Her final five schools include Oregon, Texas, LSU, Southern California and Georgia.
Brahe-Pedersen followed at the NACAC U23 Championships in Costa Rica, where she won individual titles in the 100m and 200m. She holds career best times of 11.00 seconds in the 100m, which is fourth-all-time, and 22.43 in the 200m, which is third-all-time and a junior class record.
She ran to a new indoor national record in the 200m indoors in February -- becoming just the second athlete since Bianca Knight in 2007 to break 23 seconds at the distance indoors -- clocking a time of 22.89 in Albuquerque. Her record was subsequently broken again in March.
Brahe-Pedersen also became the first high school track and field athlete to sign a Name, Image and Likeness deal with Nike in July. Her NIL deal was negotiated by renown track agent Ray Flynn, who Brahe-Pedersen retains as her NIL agent.
All five of her prospective schools are Nike-sponsored programs.
Stay tuned for her decision.
