State championship season is upon us, as various district, regional and state series are underway across the U.S.

Battle Mountain's Will Brunner scored the fastest boys 5K over the last week with his performance of 14:46 at the Colorado Region 4A-1 race, while Rachel Forsyth, one of the country's top girls runners, ran 16:40 at the SEC Championship. 

Over the next few weeks, we will begin to see how performances unfold at 5K and 3-miles in state championship competition.
